Ashley Henderson, M.A.
Therapist
Ashley is a compassionate and empathetic therapist who creates a welcoming space where clients feel at ease sharing their experiences. She helps adults with anxiety including social anxiety, panic, OCD and generalized anxiety, and also supports those experiencing depression and stress. She primarily uses CBT in her work with clients. Ashley brings a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally sensitive approach to her work to create a safe and respectful space for individuals of all backgrounds and experiences, with a firm belief that clients are the experts in their own lives.
In her work with adults, she is engaging and motivating, connecting on a personal level to work collaboratively at the client’s pace to help them feel less anxious, happier and have a greater sense of well-being. Ashley infuses her work with warmth, and a touch of humour, to foster a sense of comfort, guiding individuals on their journey to healing and self-discovery, with empathy and understanding. Ashley is passionate about supporting adults as they work through difficult life transitions. Ashley has a keen interest in supporting emerging adults as they navigate through the early stages of adulthood. She is also passionate about supporting high-performance athletes as they navigate the diverse challenges of competitive sports, to foster holistic athlete success and well-being.
When Ashley is not at The Halton Centre, she works at the Halton District School Board as a psychoeducational consultant conducting psycho-educational assessments with children and teens. Before this, Ashley worked at the Board and in Halton schools full-time for over 17 years helping children manage social relationships and develop emotional regulation, and also has a significant amount of experience working in multidisciplinary teams with educators, and supporting families as they navigate the education and mental health systems.
Ashley is in the process of becoming a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists. She graduated with her Masters of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at the Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto. Ashley works under the supervision of Dr. Tal Singer.
