Sadness, loss, and depression
Are you feeling heavy hearted or “blah”?
Are you not enjoying your life or not looking forward to anything?

It may feel as if there is a wall between you and others.
A particular situation may be making you sad such as difficulties with a colleague or a friend, a break-up or the loss of a loved one. You may be sad because of a serious illness or chronic pain or believe you have post-partum depression. Alternatively, you may not be able to point to a particular event that is upsetting you.
Depression involves a collection of symptoms in addition to feeling sad or unmotivated. Depression can involve low energy, difficulty sleeping or oversleeping, lack of appetite or overeating, difficulty concentrating or making decisions, or feelings of self-criticism or guilt If you are feeling hopeless, then you may be quite depressed.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is the most common and effective therapy for sadness and depression.
