Dr. Navneet Dhami, Ph.D.

Navneet works with children, teens, and adults and has been working for over 15 years helping her clients with a wide variety of difficulties including worrying, stress, depression, OCD, phobias and ADHD. She has a particular unique area of expertise in working with children and teens with developmental disabilities such as intellectual delay and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Navneet also conducts thorough psycho-educational assessments. Navneet leads groups for anxious children and teens at our centre as well as workshops and parenting talks. Navneet is also fluent in Punjabi.

Navneet uses evidence-based treatment. She uses primarily Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with adults. With children and teens, she integrates Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) within a strong developmental perspective. She is patient and warm and places emphasis on providing a comfortable environment for her clients to express themselves and their needs.

Navneet completed her internship and practicum placements at the Reach Out Centre for Kids (R.O.C.K.) in Halton and has also worked at the Mississauga Credit Valley Hospital, Hamilton Child and Adolescent Services and ErinoakKids in their Family Support Services and Autism Intervention Services departments. Navneet received her Honours B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Toronto and she completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University with research that focused on parent-child relations.
