Dr. Tal Singer
Psychologist
Dr. Singer works with adults and groups and has 15 years of clinical experience with a variety of problems and concerns including depression, stress, self-esteem, eating disorders and anxiety. Her anxiety work specializes in helping people with worries, panic attacks, specific phobias and social and health anxiety. Tal has particular expertise in the areas of emotional dysregulation and suicidality and works with those who have difficulties associated with problems such as borderline personality disorder. Her clinical work is informed by empirically-based methods of treatment. Tal has extensive experience in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Tal’s compassionate and non-judgmental approach allows for the creation of a safe space for her clients to discuss their difficulties as well as receive support and tools to help them achieve their goals.
Prior work includes providing treatment at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal for individuals and groups struggling with depression, anxiety, anger and borderline personality disorders and providing treatment at the Montreal General Hospital for individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer to assist them with the associated stress, bereavement, and loss. Additional work includes counselling students at the McGill University Health Centre as well as providing treatment for eating disorders and self-esteem at the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) clinic in Montreal. Tal received her B.A. in Psychology from York University and her Ph.D. from Concordia University in Montreal. Tal’s research papers and presentations can be viewed here.
Tal is happy she has moved to Oakville from Montreal to help clients in this area including Burlington, Milton and Hamilton.
