- This course runs on Tuesdays and STARTS September 6, 2022 and runs 13 weeks to November 9th.
- Class runs 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm except for the first session, Orientation, that runs 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm
Our Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) group is 13 weeks and is modeled on the leading-edge Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan. See Dr. Linehan’s institute’s website for further information on our program: http://www.linehaninstitute.org
If you are reading this and have looked for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) groups in the area, you may know that the DBT group programs at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton and at CAMH in Toronto, typically have 1 year waitlists. You might also know there are very few Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) groups in Halton.
Our psychologist, Dr. Tal Singer, who leads the group is highly skilled and used to work in the Personality Disorder Clinic at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. She uses Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help the clients in this clinic. Hence, demand is also high for our group but we do not have the same year long wait times as the other leading Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) centers.
Our client satisfaction ratings indicate that 90% of our clients rate our DBT group as extremely helpful.
